Oh yes, there will be brownies.

In case you missed it, the other day I put up a Kickstarter campaign to make Soylent brownies.  It was really just for fun and to imitate the now-famous potato salad campaign.Watch movie online The Transporter Refueled (2015)

I was aiming for $50, and we managed to hit that goal within the first 24 hours.  Now as of this morning, we’ve doubled that and are at $100.  I had promised if we hit the $100 milestone, to send each backer who pledges $5 or more two brownies of different types (or 2 of the same type if they prefer).

So now what?  Can we get to $200 in the next 14 days maybe?  I’d have to think of something really cool for everyone if we managed that.  Any suggestions?  I’m all ears!

  1. Here’s one thing I wanted to try; freeze-dried Soylent. Although I think freezing might even be unnecessary. The Black Blood Of The Earth Coffee gave me the idea.

    • That’s an interesting idea… I suppose freeze drying might be good if you really wanted it to last a LOOOOOOOOOONG time on the shelf. But otherwise I’m not sure there would really be any benefit to it. Would it do anything to improve the taste or anything like that?

      • Probably not. I just had the idea stuck in my head as a way of making bars or other solid food out of soylent.

I’m also just plain curious to see if just boiling the water out of soylent at room temperature by lowing the atmospheric pressure on it would harden it or just turn it back into a powder. I haven’t gotten my soylent yet, so I can only speculate based on what I find online until I can try for myself. I figured it was at least worth suggesting, even if it might not appeal to anyone but me.

        • Well I for one would LOVE to have “Soylent bars” or other solid forms of it, more readily available. The cookies I made were delicious but way too much hassle to do regularly. Brownies are a whole lot easier, but still make quite the mess (and frankly they make for pretty expensive brownies!) But if there was some way to solidify Soylent into something that was still edible… It would be awesome!
