I’d Rather Soylent Than Shop!

The higher we climb, the more we want to delegate things out if possible. Have certain things taken care of in some way other than our own effort if  it’s not something we’re personally invested in doing ourselves for various reasons. Some are done by people, others, by appliances or other products. For example, Jonathan and I enjoy clean floors, but don’t want to clean them ourselves, nor have a cleaning person getting in our way (we work from home) or doing a half-assed job and invading our privacy and giving us attitude, so we have floor-bots to sweep and mop them. We can only have them, though, because they exist and we were able to obtain them.

Another thing we don’t care for is taking time out of our busy lives to shop for food. It’s not an unhappy thing, but there are other ways we’d rather spend our precious time. We know there are grocery delivery services but we haven’t utilized them. This is because we have heard substitutions are made automatically if the selected items aren’t available, and we don’t find that acceptable. We want what we want, when we want it, or we go without it. If our happy little floor-bots are out of charge, our floors don’t get cleaned during that time. Period. We’ll wait until they’re charged and serve us again. We don’t insist our floors be spotlessly clean every moment of every day. Our standards are more relaxed in that arena because they can be. But going without food is not an option.

Now, thanks to Rob, our days of running around from one grocery store to the next to gather our grub are history!Roblox HackBigo Live Beans HackYUGIOH DUEL LINKS HACKPokemon Duel HackRoblox HackPixel Gun 3d HackGrowtopia HackClash Royale Hackmy cafe recipes stories hackMobile Legends HackMobile Strike Hack

I love Soylent for taking that off our hands. Now we have so much more time for other things!

We can obviously still buy whatever food we want when we want it. But Soylent takes care of all hunger requirements. Everything on top of that is icing on the cake (mmm…cake…Soylent cake?). Some folks don’t eat food that they haven’t cooked themselves from whole foods, and others don’t trust any processed foods period no matter where they’re from. For them, food is not something they are willing to delegate out (nothing wrong with that), so Soylent’s existence is irrelevant in their lives.

Now, the only food shopping we “have to” do is for our cats (I say have to, but we know that their food can be shipped to our home if we were willing to pay the steep shipping cost of their particular food. We’re happy that’s possible if we’re ever without transportation.) However, shopping for them is more than buying food. We also enjoy seeing our friends at the store and affording them the pleasure of loving on our cat (we bring one at a time) while we shop. We also get to meet some really nice people shopping with their animals. So, that’s not a task we’re as eager to give up. Although, we could.

So, while delegation can be very helpful, it’s only for areas in which the benefits of not DIY will outweigh the potential risks. Soylent has given us so much of our own time back that we are perpetually grateful!

  1. Hi Shannon: Will you give an update of how you are feeling and what differences have you noticed (skin, hair, clear head, etc etc?)

    • Sure! My skin, hair, and nails were already pretty good. The most drastic differences have been my wake-up mood (fantastic! coffee or not no longer matters), increased stamina and energy throughout the day, longer awake hours, and elimination of allergies. I don’t have the fog I used to sometimes have. I feel significantly younger! It’s wonderful to get so many things done that I have time for now that we less often do dishes and shop. My weight hasn’t significantly decreased but I expect it will over time.
